Wild sheep are one of my favourite trophy animals in NZ and look fantastic in any hunters quarry. Don’t be fooled by thinking that they are only sheep and they will be easy to hunt as I can tell you they are one of my most challenging animals to guide customers onto. Rumour has it that Captain Cook introduced these animals to NZ in 1773. Arapawa sheep are light boned and long legged which make for a very active sheep which can live in some of the toughest country in NZ. These guys offer a valuable trophy to our properties and I am always only too happy to show clients these impressive beasts.
We don’t sell an ‘off the shelf’ tour – every client is different. Let me know what you wish to hunt and how you want your experience to pan out and I will make it happen. If there are species which are not advertised please just ask as we can make most requests happen.
$150 per hunter per day applies to all hunting. This ensures exclusivity to our private hunting blocks and includes the use of one of our huts and their facilities.
Guiding is charged per day and will be quoted as requested as longer stays and roar packages may qualify for a discounted rate. All hunting of these animals are guided hunting only.
Field dressing of your meat animals or preparation of your trophy mount is a free service done by Andrew. He can also point you in the right direction of butcheries which can help with the processing of your animals and of course preferred taxidermists and expediters.
Special packages are available for larger groups and roar hunting trips.
Early bookings are essential especially for the roar so please make contact and secure your adventure to save being disappointed.
As per industry standard, any injured animals shot and not retrieved will need to be paid for in full.
